Back in November, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) released news with headline as "27 Winners of 2010 Top Safety Pick Award." In the press release, they stated that only few car models from major automaker by sales could make it to the top of safety winner list. However, Toyota with its Scion and Lexus portrayed a strong showing during 2009 by making 11 winnings, but were shut out for the year 2010.
Toyota seems to be quite confident to be one amongst those few providers for producing safe cars today. Moreover, Toyota commits to offer vehicles with highest level of quality as well as safety. Last year, Toyota won more IIHS Top Safety Pick (TSP) awards as compared to any other manufacturer. They have always continued to offer improved vehicle active and passive safety, which includes an improvement for even the past IIHS TSP winners. They always strive to bring the best and this habit has brought them popularity amongst people. IIHS also stated that the Toyota is about to shut out for 2010 is extreme also misleading, considering that there are still 38 Toyota models, Scion and Lexus models, and just three of all were tested for getting rood strength by the IIHS - Yaris, Camry and RAV4. For the first time, this year, IIHS has decided to include its own tests that exceed the federal standards, as for the TSP award consideration. Every Toyota vehicle is found to meet or even exceed the standards set by Federal Safety for the front and side impacts, the rood crush rollover and resistance protection. The passive collision security is important and Toyota offers with a range of passive, active, collision and pre-collision avoidance features. For every Toyota models and Lexus models, Star Safety System remains the standard safety equipment. They have successfully gained high Insurance Institute's ratings on quality and safety.

2011 Toyota Avalon, Sienna, and the 2010 Lexus RX have gone to earn IIHS Top Pick Safety Awards 2010. They were able to make it because they met the set standards. All car models featured standard head and side curtain air bags and standard stability control system. Redesigned Sienna remains the first minivan to have earned this TSP award ever since rollover protection was made as an addition to 2010 criteria. RX is first one of Lexus to make a winning at IIHS TSP awards. However, Avalon has won the award back in 2009 to make yet another winning at 2010 awards. This shows, Toyota has always trying to make better safety system for every car even after having won as Top Safety Pick award. Toyota Avalon, Sienna, Lexus RX go ahead to join Toyota Scion xB and Corolla in order to increase number up to five Toyota vehicles as far as they earn IIHS score for best crash protection. Toyota makes best choice of manufacturer when it comes to purchasing a car for the younger ones too, being safe to drive.
