| 1966 Excalibur Series 1 Roadster. A true survivor with only 9820 Miles! The EXCALIBUR SSK, a contemporary classic, was created by Brooks Stevens, a collector of fine cars and a designer of note, who has long admired the elegance and performance record of the famous Mercedes SSK sports cars of the 1927-30 period. In the production of the EXCALIBUR SSK, the designer and the manufacturer have combined the dependability of today with the nostalgia of yesterday. This replica model of the famous Mercedes-Benz SSK two-seater in the EXCALIBUR line is available for the true sports enthusiast. The handsome radiator, gleaming outside exhaust pipes, the throaty roar, and the outright sports racing capabilities of these Great Cars has always intrigued this designer. This period was truly a time of gentlemans sports cars, demonstrating prowess and romance. This 1966 Excalibur SSK Series 1 offered here is equipped with a 327/300HP Corvette motor mated to a 4-speed manual all-synchro transmission. One of 90 Excaliburs built In 1966. The car is red with a black interior with a matching black top, side curtains and tonneau cover. The odometer shows approx. 9820 miles which we believe this to be correct. We have the service records also from the previous owner. This outstanding Excalibur features working external exhaust pipes, windwings, chrome wire wheels, cycle fenders, power brakes, tonneau cover and a rear mounted spare. The car runs and drives great. It is a blast to drive! The car attracts much attention when driven or taken to car shows. This is probably one of the nicest original Excaliburs to exist.
